Beheading The Medusa
This is a commission piece I did for a comic writer, AuraComics, on DeviantArt of her Original Character Enya beheading a Medusa. I really went overboard for a regular commission, but it was fun and I got to test out a bunch of new things and stretch my artistic muscles a little bit trying to make everything work.

I love the image. I could go
I love the image. I could go on at length about what I love about it, but... In the background, is it intended for there to be text or somesuch above Enya's head? If not then the background feels too empty. With the medusa's coloring and position at the bottom vs the almost empty space at the top it also makes the piece feel bottom heavy. My eyes keep sliding down. (Not for the reason your thinking! Kudos for delightful curves. You seem to be getting quite good at those ;)
Yes, I do like curves
You know, I do see what you mean about the composition being bottom heavy. I even noticed that as I was working on it. I'd like to say it was intentional, since the commissioner may use it as an intro page for the comic, but quite frankly I just suck at compositions. ^_^
The background was actually a bit of an afterthought, and wasn't even paid for, I just threw it in because it felt... wrong, sort of, to just leave the characters floating in white space.
And yes, curves are good. Being a perverted geek does have some payoffs. It's like the quote from Revenge of the Nerds: "All jocks think about is sports. All nerds think about is sex."
